Why we made comfort our goal.
We are a small, female owned business in North Texas specializing in products which can improve quality of life by addressing several under-met needs. Specifically, we are focused on those pain points that we ourselves are familiar with including anxiety, stress, ADHD, sensory processing disorder, pain, and insomnia. They say that necessity is the mother of invention. Well, that's how we got started. And it all started with our little girl, Ella.
Ella was born in Russia in 2009 and raised until two years old in a Russian hospital for orphans. She was exposed to a list of nasty substances in utero which resulted in sensory processing issues. Once home in Texas, she was a constant ball of energy and had difficulty with focus and distractions. Thankfully, as part of our pre-adoption training, I attended an instructor led course called Empowered to Connect. Among the amazing resources they provided was a recommendation for use of a weighted blanket. Being the crafty mom that I am, I decided to DIY a cute little blanket for my sweet girl. The blanket worked so well and was such a hit with Ella, that everyone in my family wanted one. And then friends wanted one. Soon, I was selling weighted blankets on Etsy and Amazon faster than I could make them. To keep up, we hired a factory here in Texas who makes most of our blankets now. The rest are handcrafted by stay at home moms.
The most amazing part of our story, however, is what a tremendous impact weighted blankets have had on the people we care about. Sure, family sings their praises, but that's to be expected. It's the people who we have never met, who tell us how they or their children are finally sleeping through the night, or are able to overcome their anxiety, or are able to calm themselves down quickly now, that really warm our hearts and keep us going. We thought weighted blankets could help people, but now we are sure.
It is my calling, my passion, and my pleasure to provide weighted blankets to people who need them. And we aren't stopping there. We are constantly looking for additional products to help people where other, more traditional, methods of treatment are insufficient.
Thank you for your visit and may God bless you and yours,
